基于LD泵浦结构，设计并实现了KLM激光腔型，在若干新型Yb掺杂激光介质中都实现了输出指标优异的飞秒锁模运转。由于KLM的技术优势，可以获得比SESAM被动锁模更窄的脉冲宽度。实验得到最窄脉冲宽度为33 fs（Yb: CYA, Photon. Res. 3, 335 (2015)）。发表SCI学术论文十多篇。
